<![CDATA[At SITL (Transport & Logistics Innovation Week), opening tomorrow at Paris Porte de Versailles, Hub One, the digital technologies operator for businesses, will unveil Hub One VoiXnext, its multimodal voice recognition and synthesis solution for Android. Aimed at transport and logistics professionals, Hub One VoiXnext is a concrete response to Microsoft’s announcement that it will be terminating maintenance support for its Windows CE, Windows Mobile and Windows Handheld Embedded operating systems in 2021.
Although 80% of industrial mobile terminals currently run under Windows, Microsoft’s decision is forcing companies to migrate their fleets of ruggedised terminals to a new-generation mobile OS such as Android. Moreover, the transport and logistics sector is pursuing its digital transformation with the objective of optimising how work is done in warehouses and the delivery processes.
In this context, Hub One has developed Hub One VoiXnext, an Android solution dedicated to the activities of order-pickers. It allows them to be guided by voice and to dialogue with the information system. Hub One VoiXnext has many features to facilitate the daily work of operators, increase productivity in warehouses and avoid potential human errors.
Hub One VoiXnext offers transport and logistics professionals a complete solution for:
- Entering on-screen or validating by voice the desired operations, scanning barcodes, and benefiting from a graphic interface with enhanced ergonomic features.
- Providing a virtual keypad suited to the voiced scripts defined by the client (you only need enter digits or access function keys), with the Android terminals being « full-screen ».
- Displaying images on the terminal for greater visibility, and identifying clearly and rapidly thanks to luminous display the place where operators need to put (put-to-light) or pick (pick-to-light) the product; knowing the exact weight of an item via the connected scales; and exchanging associated data with external servers via management tools for devices and solutions external to the terminal.
The Hub One VoiXnext solution is multilingual (more than 20 languages), is designed for terminals with the Android OS, and interfaces directly with the client’s information system for totally fluid installation and management.
Hub One takes care of the audit and deployment phase for the solution, provides training both for the CIOs responsible for directly managing the voice scripts and for the operators, and handles equipment maintenance.
« The transport and logistics industry is forever evolving. The professionals in the sector need to be equipped efficiently in order to gain in productivity and be able to address their customers’ needs. With Hub One VoiXnext, we offer the stakeholders in the industry the close-up support they need, by providing them with the benefits of a cutting-edge technological solution that has already demonstrated its robustness and which makes life easier for operators, » says Luc Bechamps, Industry and Logistics Business Line Director at Hub One.]]>
